This is the most practical Palworld 1.0 early-to-mid game guide. It covers world settings, a day-by-day base-building route, breeding recipes, flying mounts, terminal levels, and complete boss tables — everything you need to go from a fresh start to a fully automated base.
0. World Settings (before you start)
Only adjust two settings for a smoother experience:
- Huge Egg Incubation Time (hours): set to 0 — the default 2+ hours per egg is painfully slow
- Death Penalty: drop nothing — running back to pick up gear is frustrating (skip this if you're a veteran)
You may also set EXP multiplier to 0.5–0.8×, since leveling at 1× feels a bit too fast early on.
1. Getting Established (LV 1-17, Terminal LV 1-10)
Day 1 — Opening Route
Starting Plateau → Grass Mammoth Hills → Rayne Syndicate Tower → Ruined Church
- Mine the Pal ore by the river for Pal Spheres; craft workbench/terminal on demand and dismantle to refund materials
- Catch at least 5 each of the three starters: Lamball and Cattiva for handiwork, Chikipi lays eggs for cakes later
- Grab one Foxparks — releasing it at night prevents cold (or carry a torch)
- Grab one Lumier — improves the glider and prevents fall damage
- If you find a green sphere, throw it at a Bristla — a catch is a win
- Catch 5 of each species to complete tasks — a Pal's icon turns yellow once done
Day 2 — Set Up the Base
Behind the Ruined Church there are 9 ore nodes — ideally include the three rocks to the north in your base.
- Reason: rich resources (metal/wood/stone + Pal ore nearby), only pigs as aggressive neighbors
- Rush the base to level 5: Primitive Workbench, Wooden Box, Poor Bed, Feed Box, Pal Bed, Pal Gear Workbench, Berry Plantation
Day 3 — Exploration Route
South of base → Small Settlement → Nameless Bridge → Windrise Island Watchtower
- Below the watchtower, two NPCs (with Direhowl / Kapasaurus) spawn regularly — hit them to trigger spawn, catch lots of Direhowl (Kindling Lv3, Handiwork Lv2, Transport Lv2, Mining Lv3), the best early Pal
- Buy a Palisade from the Pal Merchant — your future mount
- Catch a Woolipop (Gathering Lv2, Mining Lv3, Transport Lv2) at night
Day 4 — Base Upgrade
- Ride Palisade and dash into trees (2 hits per tree, 1 per ore) — massive gathering speed
- Recommended Pals: Bristla + Woolipop + a watering Pal + Palisade/Blazehowl + Direhowl ×n
- Craft the Palisade Saddle (unlock at LV12): double jump + dash + efficient wood/ore gathering
Bosses to beat: Krilvan (Lv14), Snowryx (Lv15), Falcony (Lv18), Weezen (Lv11), Quivern (Lv15), Frostalanche (Lv15), Smilodon (Lv17).
Defeat the first tower boss to unlock and build the Egg Incubator.
Phase goal: reach LV17, upgrade terminal to LV10, unlock the second base, then move to the next phase.
2. Scaling Up (LV 18-35)
Explore & Move Base
- Ride your mount to light up all teleport points on the main continent (skip Anubis Dunes and Frost Mountain)
- Mid-game needs lots of metal, coal, pure crystal, sulfur — pick a good base spot:
- North of Floral Rabbit Mountain (-145966, 173847): 9 metal + 9 crystal + 1 sulfur + skill tree, no aggressive Pals
- South of Frost Mountain (-141387, 246451): 7 metal + 6 coal, high isolated island, great view
Black Market Merchants
- Two mine black-market merchants always spawn on the main continent — buy Duskwing and Knight Bee:
- Duskwing: best transitional flying mount (saddle at LV25, no overheat in volcano/desert)
- Knight Bee: ranch produces Honey
Beat the Second Tower
Use Fire-type Pals — unlocks the Breeding Farm.
Egg Hunting While Exploring
- With Duskwing you can ignore terrain to grab eggs; with Smilodon one egg can turn into two
- Frost Mountain area: may find Felinae, Wumper, Relicanth
- Obsidian Volcano area: may find Emberite, Blazehowl, Pyrorelic, Magmaw
3. Breeding
Cake Ingredients (1 cake)
- Flour ×5 — Wheat Plantation + Mill (or buy)
- Red Berries ×8 — Berry Plantation / wild (or buy)
